The water that is in the origin of Pedras comes from the rain that falls over the Pedras Salgadas valley and in a slow and continuous, in depth, process were it flows in intimate contact with the rock massif

At a height of 580 meters, away from any polluting influence, there is the Pedras Salgadas Valley: a special place, capable of receiving rain water and turn it into Pedras.

The Pedras process is slow and complex; to reach the exact point, water circulates for decades, to finish its entire transformation until it emerges in the spring.

Water flows slowly through granite cracks, reaching 500 m to 1000 m of depth.
